French Louie Brooklyn - Country Style French Bistro

The menu, inspired by the French country style hearty cuisine, French Louie is a restaurant spearheaded by Doug Crowell, a native New Yorker and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.

Well experienced in the restaurant business, Crowell is bringing the "spirit and good cheer" of a folk character, based off a lumberjack, mule driver, fisherman, trapper and happy hermit named Louis "FRENCH LOUIE" Seymour.

The story is Louis was born in Canada but came to America to join the circus and spent his life living in the Adirondacks. Twice a year he would come in to town, party, paint the town red then settle his tab with his prize possession of lake trouts and beaver pelts.

The menu, reflects the rustic-style hearty foods Louie enjoyed on his trips to town consisting provincial techniques in cooking the lamb, duck, steak and fish. The menu will eventually expand to cater to the brunch and lunch crowds as well.
