Charming French Bistro with a View in West Village: Bakehouse
Bakehouse Bistro & Bar is owner Philippe and Maud Bonsignour's take on the classic neighborhood French bistro/bakery in the West Village. Located just above the Westside Highway, this rustic bistro with wooden furnishings and industrial feel is picturesquely situated across from the Hudson River.
During the day, the oversized window throws a gleam in to the dining space where patrons delight in artisanal buttery croissants, nutty French toast under raspberry-apricot topping and savors smoked salmon benedicts with cups of lattes. At sunset, a more mature, robust and flavorful menu kicks in. House-made pappardelle comes served with wild mushrooms and arugula in a sherry cream sauce. Rich bakehouse burger covered in gooey harvarti-ricotta cheese with caramelized onions and tender grilled hangar steak with just the right amount of outside brown.
A welcoming full-service bar is also available and make sure you check out their Happy Hour specials that includes $1 oysters and $5 for select draft beers.
