Looking for a novel way to celebrate Oktoberfest? Get out and explore a little of the countryside with the Hike, Beers and Bears (Oktoberfestival) event. Available only during October, this is a rain or shine event that offers a hike up to the Perkins Memorial Tower in Bear Mountain, New York. This hike is rated a 3 on a 1-6 scale and will take participants on a journey with views of Bear Mountain Park and the Hudson Highlands. Bring a lunch, snack and appropriate hiking gears for a bit of a steep climb. After lunch at the top of the hike, the tour will go through the local zoo to see native wildlife such as bears, eagles and hawks before heading over to an Oktoberfest festival.
