Boozy Candy Drinks Sure to Bring out the Inner Child in All of Us!
A few years ago, the confectionary Wonka-esque mecca that is known as Dylan’s Candy Bar, unveiled their own set of specialty, candy-inspired cocktails, featuring some of childhoods most coveted and delectable treats, and putting a whole new spin on the candy “ Bar ” experience!
Therefore to ensure that your sweet tooth is covered for a night out on the town, we have scoured the city in an attempt to find more of these delicious, adult-influenced, candy flavored mixed drinks so that you don’t have to!

First up is one of Dylan’s Candy Bar original signature cocktails that is sure to bring back classic memories from your youth. This cocktail contains a tasty blend of citrus vodka, Midori, Apple Cotton Candy simple syrup (who knew?!), and fruit juices, all poured over a candy coated glass of, you guessed it – Pop Rocks, creating that all too familiar crackle and pop that we have all come to know and love! Never before did a cocktail feel so bold and daring – and all with a sugar explosion! To create this signature drink, founder and owner, Dylan Lauren has shared the below recipe so you can relive the wonder again and again!
Pop Rocks Explosion
- 1 ½ oz. citrus vodka
- 1 oz. Midori
- Apple Cotton Candy simple syrup
- Splash of lime juice
- 4 oz. orange juice
- Splash of Sprite
- Pop Rocks candy

Who among us could resist the allure of an oversized lollipop as a child? When it comes to those who still seek out the super sweet and visually stunning, the ‘Lollipop Passion’, brings on the extravagance in goblet form. The Sugar Factory Brasserie, nestled deep in the heart of Meatpacking, serves up all your childhood favorites in a frothing glass bowl that is literally brimming with assorted candies from your adolescence and sure to induce a flood of memories! Blending pineapple, various melon liqueurs, Bacardi coconut rum and Ketel One Citroen Vodka balance out the legendary Sugar Factory staple “candy-tail”. Oh, and they finish it off with an over-the-top adornment of vibrantly bright lollipops overflowing for an added touch of whimsy that’s as irresistibly eye-catching as it is fun!

With the weather warming up, it seems only fair to feature a boozy milk shake of epic proportions that resonates with the inner child in each of us. Who could resist the ever crave-worthy temptation that is birthday cake, with its brightly colored sprinkles and sweet sugary frosting?! Toss that in a creamy shake and add some spiced rum and you’ve got a recipe that’s sure to please the masses! For some time now the Momofuko Milk Bar has boasted a bevy of treats, from their coveted cookies to their classic cereal Milk soft serve, and it seems that now they are catering to the 21 and over crowd with their homage to the birthday cake shake, which features their cereal Milk ice cream blended with their own specialty birthday cake truffles! This might be good enough to celebrate on a daily basis.
*Another note-worthy addition to the boozy menu is a take on the famous Momofuko fan favorite, ‘Crack Pie;’ a truly delicious mixture of cream, eggs, sugar and butter – now in a shake form and made with Frangelico!

Chocolate martinis have been a hot commodity for some time now, but rarely does a place take it to such extremes as Wine and Chocolate Bar, Ayza, located in midtown and the West Village. Not only does this elegant eatery serve up regular foodie fare, but they also happen to have their own ‘chocolate martini’ section of the menu, where customers can test taste their six (yes, six) variations, including peppermint, raspberry, strawberry, espresso almond or their original classic chocolate-tini! As a child there were few things more satisfying than enjoying an icy treat on a hot day and fortunately now for popsicle lovers everywhere, Loopy Doopy, the newly opened rooftop bar that resides within the downtown Conrad Hotel and overlooks the Hudson, has made these classic treats in adult form. This sweet treat is made in-house and dipped in a top shelf liquor bath before its served up in a chilled glass of Prosecco and comes in various flavors ranging from Strawberry Citron, White Peach Bourbon and Watermelon Mojito, just to name a few!
